Research proves that looking after yourself during pregnancy has many health and wellbeing benefits so I have created a wonderful package that will help reduce your aches and pains, blood pressure and more.
Pregnancy massage treatment starts with a consultation to see how you are feeling and what your needs are for each visit.
Once you are comfortable, I will take you through a guided visualisation, then a full body massage working the areas that you want and need tailored to you. It will incorporate lymphatic massage, gentle massage and at times a massage focused on your problem areas and end with a face massage.
We will have use of the couch, chair, a ball, and cushions to ensure that you are comfortable throughout your treatment.
Pregnancy is a special but physically demanding time, involving significant emotional and bodily changes.
These shifts can affect sleep, posture, circulation, and wellbeing.
Pregnancy massage uses safe, nurturing touch to ease discomfort and promote relaxation, helping reduce stress and tension.
Pregnancy massage offers profound support—both physically and emotionally, for mother and baby, throughout this important journey.
How Massage Helps:
Massage encourages the production of endorphins (natural pain relievers) and reduces cortisol (the stress hormone). This combination promotes better quality sleep, ensuring both physical and emotional rejuvenation. Better sleep is essential for a healthy pregnancy and optimal wellbeing.
Gentle pregnancy massage supports the circulatory system by enhancing venous return - the flow of blood back to the heart. This is especially beneficial in the lower limbs, where uterine pressure may slow circulation. Improved blood flow helps alleviate swelling, reduces the risk of varicose veins, and relieves discomfort, supporting overall vascular health.
Massage encourages deep relaxation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, this helps to lower heart rate and reduce blood pressure naturally. With regular sessions, massage can support more consistent blood pressure levels throughout pregnancy, benefiting both mother and baby.
Pregnancy massage uses gentle, rhythmic strokes to mimic and encourage lymphatic drainage. These movements help shift stagnant fluid, reduce swelling, and ease pressure in swollen areas—especially useful in later pregnancy when fluid retention increases.
In addition to reducing swelling, lymphatic stimulation through pregnancy massage offers a range of supportive benefits:
- Alleviates oedema and fluid retention
- Helps ease discomfort caused by excess fluid in the tissues.
- Supports immune system function.
- Encourages better lymphatic flow, which plays a vital role in immune health.
- Enhances mobility and reduces heaviness in limbs.
- Promotes ease of movement and relieves the dragging sensation in legs and feet.
- Promotes deep relaxation and improved overall wellbeing.
- Reduces stress, calms the nervous system, and enhances the sense of balance and comfort.
By focusing on areas of common tension—such as the lower back, hips, and pelvis—pregnancy massage helps release muscular tightness, decrease inflammation, and improve mobility. This promotes greater ease of movement, lessens physical discomfort, and supports overall physical wellbeing.
Massage stimulates blood flow to the skin and improves hydration, making the skin more supple and resilient. By using natural oils, massage helps maintain skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of stretch marks, promoting comfort during the stretching process.
Gentle facial massage, especially around the sinus area, can help relieve pressure and clear nasal congestion.
